Our goal in the private program at West Cobb is to instill a love of learning and preserve the self-esteem in each of our children. We accomplish this through the use of a well-rounded curriculum and through individual attention to each student to ensure the children can strive for success, feel supported through challenges, and feel recognized for their efforts and accomplishments.
West Cobb’s Private Program is unique in many ways. We offer low class sizes, part and full day options, standardized testing, pre-admission testing, weekly assessments, bi-monthly field trips for Kindergarten students and older, and a challenging curriculum.
Our tem of experienced and educated teachers continually strive to reach each child’s potential through the use of our varied curriculums and resources. The subjects of study include; Math, Reading, Language Arts, Phonics, Spelling, Science, Writing, Health and Social Studies. The curriculum is implemented in large groups, small groups, projects, and self-directed activities. Our Private Pre-Kindergarten program strives for every student leaving our program to be able to read.
While much emphasis is placed on our academic programs, the Pre-K classroom is set up with centers which enable children to grow socially and emotionally. After mastering those social skills as a four year old, our Primary school turns those ‘social centers’ into centers which focus on hands-on learning activities which reinforce the curriculum.
